What is it?
The Cadence® Retool-to-Work Program is a community outreach program offered to qualified candidates who need to update their design skills. Candidates might be displaced engineers seeking re-employment or engineers re-entering the work force, such as stay-at-home parents seeking to brush-up on their skills.
Qualified candidates will receive free online training with the option to become Cadence Certified and earn digital badges for Cadence® tools, flows, and languages.
How Does a Candidate Qualify?
As a rule of thumb, candidates usually have Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering, or they have had approximately five years of hands-on design experience in the industry.
Retool-to-Work candidates eager to join the program will need to:
- Supply an up-to-date resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Review the Cadence Training Learning Map and detailed course descriptions. Submit a prioritized list of their desired training courses.
A Cadence representative will contact the candidate to confirm their training needs. The candidate will also be asked to sign a standard legal document verifying employment background, experience, and personal information. Final acceptance into a Retool-to-Work class is at the Cadence Training team’s discretion.
What Is Digital Badging and How Do I Claim a Badge?
A digital badge is a visual indicator of accomplishment, skill, quality, or interest that can be earned in various learning environments. Digital badging is becoming a way that many employers choose to hire and assign projects. It is a visual verification of your successful mastery of a technology or skill.
After taking a Cadence training class, you will have an opportunity to test your knowledge by taking the associated exam. When you pass the exam, you can claim and share your Cadence digital badge to promote your competency on sites like LinkedIn
Retool-to-Work Success Stories
In an ongoing effort to make this community outreach program highly successful, individuals who have completed the Cadence Retool-to-Work program will be contacted to discuss the program. Should a candidate become employed due to completing a Retool-to-Work class, then we ask for a brief summary in the form of a “success story.”
