U.S. Trademarks

The Cadence^® brand identity is an important asset of Cadence Design Systems, Inc. The following rules will help you to use our trademarks correctly and consistently.

Cadence Trademark Rules

Rule #1

When writing about Cadence products, always refer to the Cadence trademark names list below and use the appropriate legal symbol on first use, where required.

Rule #2

Cadence trademarks must always be used as adjectives followed by a generic noun.

These are CORRECT uses of trademarks:

• The key to having silicon that meets all specifications is the Cadence^® Virtuoso^® custom design platform.
• Thanks to the Cadence^® Xcelium™ Logic Simulation, you can...
• Nothing beats the power of the Cadence^® Innovus™ Implementation System.

These are INCORRECT uses of trademarks:

• The key to having silicon that meets all specifications is Virtuoso^®.
• Thanks to Xcelium™, you can...
• Nothing beats the power of Innovus™.

Rule #3

Do not use acronyms in place of a trademarked name:

• Microwave Office^® software, not MWO
• Virtuoso^® Schematic Editor, not VSE
• Allegro^® Package Designer, not APD

A copyright notice is required on all Cadence communications. It helps us protect our valuable trademarks, and it helps us to acknowledge the marks of other companies:
