Cadence at MemCon 2013

Trust but Verify
That term, popularized in the 1980s, is just as important in electronics design as it was in global arms control. After all, designs are getting more—not less—complex, and verification as a percentage of overall design cycle time is increasing, not decreasing.

And while verification is an evergreen topic, we make hardware-assisted system verification this month's conversation theme because of the announcement of the Cadence® Palladium® XP II Verification Computing Platform, part of the System Development Suite, at CDNLive Beijing earlier this month. Industry analyst Gary Smith sets the stage for us, describing the verification challenges of designs in which hardware and software development go hand in hand. Kent Goodin, executive vice president of engineering at Zenverge, notes that his team can get to software development engagement much earlier in the design flow using Palladium emulation. And, among other useful verification-related content, Richard Goering blogs about two new use models with hardware-assisted verification.
