Cadence Academic Network Benefits

Bring all the tools needed for the full design flow into your classroom teaching. The Cadence University Program ensures you’ll be educating your students on the most advanced technology.

Leading-edge semiconductor integrated circuits (IC) drive the electronics systems that are changing our lives. They are the enabling technology that is transforming everything from home automation to self-driving cars and advanced healthcare.

Develop your design with optimal performance, power, and area (PPA) to create innovative system functionality.

The design of electronics systems includes PCBs, 3D-IC packaging, and signal integrity, electromagnetic, and electrothermal analysis. These multi-physics analyses are applied from chip and package to PCB, cabling, and connectivity. Develop software and co-optimize your hardware and software with security in mind.

Create specialized processors to optimize the algorithm for your target data sets, managing the massive parallelism inherent in today’s intelligent systems.

Unified Learning and Support Portal

Educators can request a Cadence Online Support account where they can access software downloads, a troubleshooting database, Rapid Adoption Kits (RAKs), Generic Process Design Kits (GPDKs), and so much more!

The learning resources, including short, introductory videos—called Training Bytes—for Cadence tools and full Online Training courses that can be incorporated into your classroom curriculum are now a part of the Support Portal, making it even easier to enhance your classroom teaching with Cadence tools and materials.

Conquer Radio Frequency

About the Author

Dr. Fornetti's vision on academic teaching is that it should not be seen as simply a transfer of knowledge and notions between the instructor and the student. He sees it instead as the process of stimulating curiosity and creating enthusiasm about a subject in a way that encourages, inspires, and enables students to explore the subject beyond classroom walls. He also believes that the wide availability of powerful simulation tools, new technology, and broadband internet access sets academic teaching free from the static setting of a classroom and the black and white pages of a textbook. In particular, in the field of RF engineering where laboratory work would be impractical, he feels that simulations and animations should be an integral part of teaching. They not only give students the knowledge to experiment with circuits on the simulator but also explain abstract concepts in a more conceptual and visual way.
