The Cadence® brand identity is an important asset of Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Everyone—including Cadence employees, contractors, suppliers, distributors, consultants, developers, and even those with no relationship with Cadence—is responsible for the correct usage of Cadence trademarks. The following rules will help you to use the Cadence trademarks correctly and consistently. Please read the following in its entirety and be sure to adhere to the outlined rules.
RULE #1:
When writing about Cadence products, always refer to the most up-to-date Cadence trademark list below and use the appropriate legal symbol. You only need to use the "®" or "™" symbols at the first mention in the body copy (and never in headlines, titles, subheads, diagrams, or tops of slides). Unbound documents such as web pages must have at least one appropriate mark on every page. In PowerPoint presentations, use trademarking in the first mention of a trademarked product in the slide on which it appears.
RULE #2:
Cadence trademarks must always be used as adjectives followed by a generic noun.
These are CORRECT uses of trademarks:
- The key to having silicon that meets all specifications is the Cadence® Virtuoso® custom design platform.
- Thanks to the Cadence® Xcelium™ Logic Simulation, you can...
- Nothing beats the power of the Cadence® Innovus™ Implementation System.
These are INCORRECT uses of trademarks:
- The key to having silicon that meets all specifications is Virtuoso®.
- Thanks to Xcelium™, you can...
- Nothing beats the power of Innovus™.
RULE #3:
Do not use acronyms in place of a trademarked name:
- JasperGold® Superlint App, not JG Superlint
- Virtuoso® Schematic Editor, not VSE
- Allegro® Package Designer, not APD
RULE #4:
A copyright notice is required on all Cadence communications. It helps us protect our valuable trademarks, and it helps us to acknowledge the marks of other companies:
© 2022 Cadence Design Systems, Inc. All rights reserved worldwide. Cadence, the Cadence logo, and the other Cadence marks found at www.cadence.com/go/trademarks are trademarks or registered trademarks of Cadence Design Systems, Inc. All other trademarks are the property of their respective holders.
