Course Description
This course is part of the Virtuoso® Spectre® Pro series. It is an advanced class offering and part of the Engineer Explorer series. You use the Spectre Circuit Simulator and its corresponding options to analyze results from transient analysis and use the Analog Design Environment to set up and run simulations on circuit examples. In this course, you learn to set up, run and post-process a transient noise simulation. You also compare transient noise with linear noise and finally learn to measure digital jitter and calibrate convergence options.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Set up, run, and post-process a transient noise run
- Switch on and off the individual noise contributors
- Set the strobeperiod option to manipulate transient output results
- Visualize how convergence options that you set affect the results
- Apply the PSD calculator function
- Compare transient noise to linear noise
- Use the multiple-run capability
- Set up, run, and post-process a transient noise run to measure digital jitter
- Calibrate the convergence options
- Build calculator expressions to calculate the PSD of the jitter of the digital edge
