Course Description
Sigrity™ PowerDC™ and OptimizePI™ provides a coherent methodology for the analysis of power delivery networks in high-speed printed circuit boards (PCBs). Power-delivery network design includes voltage regulator modules, decoupling capacitors, and power/ground planes. In this course, you use the Sigrity Power Integrity Suite software to analyze a stable power distribution system to support high-speed circuit operation.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Set up a board database for analysis
- Perform static IR-drop analysis
- Perform an electrical and thermal co-simulation
- Graph the impedance of the power distribution network across a complete frequency bandwidth
- Assign capacitor models to an existing printed circuit board
- Create and edit capacitor models
- Optimize capacitor selection for performance and cost

"Very good, I think we could expect a lot of design process improvements with this tool. Nothing to improve further, it is great. The trainer is impressive in using the full toolchain."
Antoine Masson, Schneider Electric

"Very positive."
Andrea Triossi, Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien

"I liked how the instructor used the tool as he talked so we could see it in action. This is much preferable to looking at endless powerpoint slides.”
Christopher Rojek, Motorola Solutions

"I discovered unsuspected effects. Very useful for next designs."
Jean-Pierre Cachemiche, IN2P3

"Very good"
Andreas Larsson, Ericsson

"I have really appreciated this course. The trainer was really motivated and well educated."
Thomas Weiss, Platinum

"Well spent time. Good instructor."
Joel Eriksson, Ericsson

"I like the fact that we took time to repeat the labs and that we could have a look on other types of simulation."
Flavien Dorlin, Schneider Electric

“I liked the informal style and strong engagement on the topic."
Dimitri Kaparkov, Ericsson

“This is an interesting and informative course to me(...)a refresh but still a nice and useful overview of PDN analysis."
Mario Rotigni, ST Microelectronics

"I really appreciated that the PCB layout analysis was done with the PCB board files provided by participants of the course."
Kimmo Jaaskelainen, Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien
