The Cadence® Virtuoso® ADE Assembler is an advanced design and simulation environment that extends the capabilities of Virtuoso ADE Explorer, allowing the use of multiple testbenches in a single design.
Virtuoso ADE Assembler adds all of the tests needed to fully verify a design over all operational, process, and environmental conditions. If more analysis is required, you can take incremental advantage of Cadence’s Virtuoso Variation Option to do more advanced statistical analysis on your design.
Virtuoso ADE Assembler sets the standard in thorough, fast, and accurate design and variation analysis. The tool supports extensive exploration of multiple designs against their objective specifications, helping you meet your delivery schedule.
The tool works seamlessly with Virtuoso ADE Explorer, and allows you to use Virtuoso ADE Assembler with multiple netlists and testbenches. As a result you can simulate global or partial layouts for detailed analysis of layout-dependent effects. When used with the Virtuoso Variation Option, you can analyze advanced node variation, high-yield estimation and statistical sensitivity.
Circuit exploration and design
Virtuoso ADE Assembler provides advanced scripting of early-stage tests to ensure you are meeting your targets during the design phase. The tool makes creation of regression tests easy by providing pre-built “run plans”. These plans can be run interactively or with a new script-based language. Virtuoso ADE Assembler supports multiple analysis types including corners, Monte Carlo, and reliability testing. Performing this early-stage analysis across multiple conditions at the same time gives you the chance to significantly increase productivity.
In the simulation process, Virtuoso ADE Assembler performs variation analyses and can automatically identify worst-case and statistically derived corners for a design. The status of your tests can be color coded for easy identification and reporting of pass/fail conditions.
Virtuoso ADE Assembler speeds up design review preparation by integrating design documentation, specifications, measurement results, and waveforms all into one place. The tool is closely integrated with Virtuoso Schematic Editor and Virtuoso Layout Suite, speeding up your test development and debug time of physical effects introduced during layout.
Virtuoso ADE Assembler has built-in parasitic analysis capabilities, and provides many performance enhancements such as improved test database versioning and waveform plotting, which, in turn, also speed design review preparation.
Virtuoso ADE Assembler shares a common data view with the other tools in Cadence’s Virtuoso custom design platform, so designs naturally progress from single tests, to multiple tests, to significant regression testing, greatly simplifying the entire testing process.
