IoT Reference Platform
Arm/Cadence collaboration reduces your time to market
Key Benefits
- Reduces time to market for IoT projects
- Simplifies the SoC development effort
- Speeds hardware/software system integration
To reduce the time to market of designing Arm®-based IoT devices, Arm and Cadence jointly developed an IoT reference platform. The reference platform gives you commonly used functions required in an IoT design, including a processor, an IoT subsystem, and standard interfaces.
You can augment the platform with expansion shields for sensors, actuators, and wireless connectivity. Utilizing the Arm Cortex®-M Prototyping System, this platform demonstrates fully integrated and verified IP. The platform includes:
- Cadence interface IP: MIPI® SoundWire, Quad-SPI, I2C, and SPI
- Arm IoT subsystem for Cortex-M: Cortex-M processor, power management, flash cache, flash controller, and the Bluetooth® Cordio® radio.
To complement this hardware solution, Arm mbed™ OS provides the necessary software components to build a secure, power-optimized sensor-to-cloud application.
This reference platform allows designers to jumpstart IoT design projects and focus more of their design bandwidth on aspects of the design that will differentiate their product in the marketplace. In addition to the usual cost, risk, and time-to-market reasons for using third-party IP, the reference platform reduces the amount of verification needed since the various IP components have already been tested for interoperability. The time from having an idea to finding out how well it performs in the marketplace is reduced to a minimum.
This is the first result of the Cadence/Arm strategic IP interoperability agreement that allows Arm and Cadence reciprocal access to relevant IP portfolios.
