Where standards and organizations don’t exist, we’ve helped to create them. Listed below is more information about the organizations and standards that Cadence proudly supports.
Organizations
Accellera Systems Initiative
Cadence is a corporate member of Accellera, a non-profit electronics industry organization that drives the worldwide development and use of standards required by systems, semiconductor, and design tools companies that enhance a language- and IP-based design automation process.
eBeam Initiative
The eBeam Initiative provides a forum for educational and promotional activities regarding new semiconductor manufacturing approaches based on electron beam (eBeam) technologies. The goals of the initiative are to reduce the barriers to adoption to enable more IC design starts and faster time to market while increasing the investment in eBeam technologies throughout the semiconductor ecosystem. Members and advisors for the initiative span the semiconductor ecosystem. Cadence is an ecosystem member of the organization.
Electronic System Design Alliance
The Electronic System Design Alliance (ESD Alliance) is an international association of companies that provide goods and services throughout the semiconductor design ecosystem. The alliance provides a forum to address technical, marketing, economic, and legislative issues that affect the industry. The organization is also a central voice for communicating and promoting the value of semiconductor design within the global electronics industry.
Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA)
GSA’s mission is to accelerate the growth and increase the return on invested capital of the global semiconductor industry by fostering a more effective fabless ecosystem through collaboration, integration, and innovation.
IEEE
IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association serving public interest and members in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others. The IEEE publishes a third of the world's technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics and is a leading developer of international standards that underpin many of today's telecommunications, IT, and power generation products and services.
Cadence has active participants on (among others) working groups and committees for: P1076 VHDL, P1647 e languages, P1666 SystemC®, P1735 IP Encryption, P1800 SystemVerilog, P1800.2 UVM, P1801 Low Power Design & Verification, P2415 Low Power Hardware Abstraction, P2416 Low Power Modeling, and the Design Automation Standards Committee (DASC).
Si2
Si2 is a non-profit organization of industry-leading semiconductor, systems, EDA, and manufacturing companies focused on the development and adoption of standards to improve the way ICs are designed and manufactured. Si2 represents approximately 70 companies involved in all parts of the silicon supply chain worldwide. Cadence is a contributing member in a number of Si2-based coalitions and TABs, including OpenAccess and Compact Model Coalition.
IPC-2581
IPC-2581 Consortium is a group of PCB design and supply chain companies whose collective goal is to enable, facilitate, and drive the use of IPC-2581 in the industry. It is devoted to accelerating the adoption of IPC-2581 as an open, neutrally maintained global standard to encourage innovation, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. Members of the IPC-2581 Consortium include OEMs, EDA/DFM/CAM software companies, PCB fabricators, electronics assemblers, and test companies. The Consortium is open to any PCB design and supply chain company that is committed to a roadmap for IPC-2581 adoption.
