Lip-Bu Tan launched the 21 Annual Technologies Conference. In his keynote address Tan mentioned the main sectors that will help the international semiconductors industry grow: data centers, automobile market, mobile devices, social media and "the Internet of Things". He talked about the Israeli market: "I admire startup companies and every time I'm here in Israel I am thrilled to see the developments in this sector. So many initiatives and enthusiasm. This is a land of many opportunities and great minds. Many global leading companies were born here, some of which receive our support in the area of EDA". He also mentioned Cadence's recent acquisitions significantly increasing the field of SoC realization due to the considerable enhancement of IP and VIP portfolio through the acquisition of Tensilica, Cosmic Circuits and the IP business of Evantronix
Also in the opening session of the CDNLive 2013 we heard from Oded Melamed, CEO of Altair Semiconductors, who reviewed the successful collaboration with Cadence and from Grant Martin, Chief Scientist at Tensilica, one of Cadence's recent acquisitions, who discussed various design aspects of IP.
The impressive event was sponsored by 17 exhibitors, and highlighted the collaborative ecosystem available to support you.
A meeting between The Office of the chief scientist and Lip Bu Tan was held on Monday afternoon, at the David Intercontinental hotel. The OCS annually supports hundreds of projects from incipient concepts within a pre-seed framework followed by support of incubator and start-up companies through autonomous industrial R&D enterprises. Both persons discussed about a potential cooperation between Cadence and the local incubators.
Cadence parted from its clients and partners with an invitation to attend the 22th annual CDNLive 2014 Conference.
