WELCOME
In
May, Cadence will host its thirteenth annual Stars & Strikes
fundraising event. Each year, I’m impressed by the collaboration
among our partners, competitors, customers, suppliers, and employees
to support our community.
Working together, we’re a great team. Your contributions
helped build The Fisher
House–Palo Alto for families
of veterans and active-duty soldiers undergoing rehabilitation.
Your support brought a multi-purpose outdoor learning laboratory
and amphitheater to The Children’s
Discovery Museum
in downtown San Jose. And with your assistance, we helped purchase
and renovate facilities for InnVision the Way Home, The
Bill Wilson Center,
and the Resource Area for Teachers.
This year presents a unique opportunity to have a profound impact
on young men and women who have dropped out of high school. The
2006 beneficiary, the San
Jose Conservation
Corps & Charter School,
provides at-risk and disadvantaged youth with a quality high-school
education and valuable work and life skills. The Stars & Strikes
fundraiser will help San Jose Conservation Corps renovate a newly
purchased building to expand its Charter School, increasing classroom
space and adding a much-needed daycare center.
With your support, the San Jose Conservation Corps will be able
to complete the building in months rather than years. The Charter
School will then have the facilities necessary to reach their
goal of graduating 1,000 students each year, which will have
an outstanding affect on the future workforce of Silicon Valley.
The San Jose Conservation Corps is a truly remarkable program
and its expanded Charter School will open up a world of possibilities.
Let’s work together to make the possibilities a reality.
Whether you sign up to bowl alongside Cadence, other corporate
sponsors, and the San Francisco 49ers at the tournament on May 13, or whether you lend your support
by simply writing a check, we hope you join our efforts to break
all previous fundraising records. Thousands of young men and
women, and their families, who need a second chance will benefit
from your generosity, as will our community.
