Incisive Verification IP (VIP)

The Incisive® Plan-to-Closure Verification IP (VIP) portfolio delivers
the industry's leading protocol verification solution. It is the only
solution that addresses the full range of verification needs. It offers
Universal Verification Components (UVCs) for advanced testbenches, transaction-based
acceleration for high-level testbenches, assertion-based VIP (ABVIP) for formal,
simulated, and accelerated block-level verification, and SpeedBridge rate adapters
for emulation and in-circuit verification.

Incisive VIP offers the broadest and deepest verification IP solution
for the complex protocols used in today's most demanding applications.
These include PCI Express,
AMBA AHB and AXI, Ethernet, USB, PCI, OCP, and SATA. Customers can also
take advantage of the Cadence Verification Alliance Partner Program,
which provides Plan-to-Closure—qualified VIP for another 20+ protocols,
making this the largest VIP portfolio available. Incisive VIP is plug-and-play
and configurable to each design under test. It also supports all
IEEE-standard languages,
enabling customers to use the most appropriate languages (SystemVerilog, e,
Verilog, VHDL, SystemC) for their specific design and verification needs.

As an integral part of the Incisive functional verification platform,
Incisive VIP maximizes productivity, predictability, and end-product
quality, and it minimizes verification environment bring-up time.
Incisive VIP is also highly reusable since it is based on the proven
Plan-to-Closure Methodology. Customers can easily reuse the VIP to
span the entire verification process, from block- to chip- to system-level
verification and for derivative projects.

Another key differentiator of Incisive VIP is the Compliance Management
System (CMS). The CMS automates compliance verification and reduces the
resources and expertise required to achieve that goal. Using the CMS,
customers will reach 70+% coverage with push-button ease while avoiding
the most difficult aspects of compliance verification. For example, by
generating complex and/or unexpected corner-case scenarios, the CMS
eliminates most test writing. This means engineers do not have to create
and manage the hundreds or thousands of directed tests required in alternative
approaches. Beyond automating verification, each CMS also greatly simplifies
interpreting and reporting simulation results. It provides quantified,
metrics-based, high-quality data, enabling engineers and project managers
to assess verification progress reliably. They can also evaluate the risk
areas and accurately predict how much more work is needed to reach closure.
