  • Double Exponential Current Pulse In Virtuoso

Sir, Is it possible to model a double exponential current pulse ( used for representing Single Event Itransients) in Cadence Virtuoso?. It would be helpful if you could explain the method for getting the same. Yours faithfully Aravind

  • PSS simulation for RF LO and mixer simultaneously

Dear Team, I am designed RF receiver in cadence. I have simulated oscillator and mixer individual. Now i am trying to simulate simultaneously. But PSS analysis is not running. Because beat frequencies for RF signal, LO signal and IF signal is different. How can i simulate it? Can you please guide me...

  • Transient results as starting point in PSS

Hello, Could we use the transient analysis results as a stabilization point (tstab) for PSS analysis? If so, how could we acheive it? Is there any documentation on this? Any inputs will be helpful. Prakash.

  • Issue with Envelope analysis

Hi, I am simulating the I/Q upconversion using port through envelope analysis. The I input pwl file has samples of a cosine of frequency=5MHz and timestep=0.00125us. The Q input pwl file has samples of value=0 and timestep=0.00125us. The original I, Q pwl files have data upto 2ms. I have attached the...

  • Re: Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) simulation problem in IC615

Hi Aleksandr, I believe this question would be best handled by Customer Support . Unfortunately, I don't have time to look into this right now. It is always important to list the exact IC and MMSIM subversion that you are using. This can be found by typing in an xterm: virtuoso -W and spectre -W

  • modelling reflection in Cadence Virtuoso

Hello Sir, I have been trying to design a UHF passive RFID tag in 130nm on Cadence Virtuoso IC 5.4.1. As for the design of a matching network between Antenna and Rectifier of RFID please tell me how reflections, if not matched, been modelled in Cadence Virtuoso. So whether I have to use any specifice...

  • Re: Is the issue of "positive phase noise" related to MMSIM version?

Hi bjbit, Andrew and I have conferred on your issue. Given that this is going to require some more detailed investigation and checking with supported releases, it would be best if you contact Customer Support for assistance. best regards, Tawna

  • Re: Is the issue of "positive phase noise" related to MMSIM version?

Hi bjbit, This is discussed in Cadence Online Support article 1832229. Here is the complete link: http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:ViewSolution;solutionNumber=1832229 Starting around MMSIM 7.2, there is a parameter called "lorentzian". This parameter determines if the...

  • Re: pss insufficient memory problem

Hi, 1. Yes, MMSIM10.1 and 12.1.X are a lot different. Better yet, go to 13.1. 2. That is not what I was asking for. In the netlist, there is a "save" statement. It will tell how many nodes and nets are saved. If you "save all" (for example), that can cause issues. Saving only selected...

  • Re: pss insufficient memory problem

For questions like this, it is better to file a Case with Customer Support . Your versions of spectre are very old. You should be using MMSIM 12.1.1 or better yet MMSIM 13.1 . You didn't mention how many nets/nodes that you were saving. Only save the most important ones. It is helpful to see the...
