via on bga pad, no drc showing Reply

I have a board that was layed out by a contract designer and apparently he routed a via at the center of several BGA pads but it never shows up as a drc error. I can aslo recreate this on other boards. I have same net drc turned on and pad to pad direct connect set to not allowed....but it never shows up as a drc error. Is this a known issue? Using SPB15.5.1

You need to look at bb via separation. What is the issue anyway? Are you using filled vias or not? Via in pad on BGA *can* work if finished out correctly.

This is a thru via, not a BB via. We also specify all vias under BGA's be soldermask plugged. So we have a plugged via occupying the same space as a ball pad = no connection.

I have same net drc turned on and pad to pad direct connect set to not allowed.
First image: The via is touching the pad origin, I get no drc error.
Second image: The via is not touching the pad origin, it gives me a pad to via drc error.
