    Orcad Symbols Reply

    Hello,
I'm new to Orcad 16 and have a question on symbols.  I've created a few and have them in my library directory.  I know it saves a .dra and .psm file which I learned from my training class.  I also have in the same directory a .log file, master.tag and allegro.jrl files.  What are these files and if I delete them will I get an error importing a net list.
    Thanks

    RE: Orcad Symbols Reply

You won't have a problem if you delete those three files.

sym_name.log - This tells you that the symbol was created or if there were errors when compiling the symbol what the error was.

master.tag - This file tells Allegro which file was opened last. The allegro.ini, located in your ~/pcbenv directory lists the directory that Allegro was last used in.

allegro.jrl - This is used to track what was done during an editing session. This can also be used to create scripts with the 'j2script' command in a shell window.
