    Adopting existing etch Reply

Is there a way to "adopt" the path of a prior net to some other net name? I have a path that is connected most of the way as I would like but I want to that etch to be a different name.

First, delete the segments that connect to pins on the old net. Next, delete any Vias on the path as these will connect to your planes. Then, you can connect one end to your new pin, and working from that end replace the vias.

Good idea for deleting all vias to prevent  them from plane.
But if the path is covered in a dynamic Shape or plane in same layer(like as GND), it will connect with the Shape, once you delete the segments and vias.
How to prevent the path from the dynamic Shape?

Probably the easiest way to reuse a trace on a dynamic shape, is to move the shape a known distance outside your board outline, connect the trace, then move the shape back.
