    No device property found? Reply

I've made lots of symbols before, but I have two connectors that I can't figure what's wrong.
I create the .dra, then create the .psm, then the device file.

When I load my netlist (with these symbols in it), it loads OK, but I cannot manually place the two connectors. I keep getting a "no device file found" even though I KNOW it's there and the placement window shows the connector...

    Any ideas?? I'm stumped!

Have you checked if the pins on the schematic body matches the allegro footrprint?

    Yes. Several times.

I did an experiment however, and re-created both symbols exactly like the first ones. Then I re-loaded the netlist into my start (pre-wire) board. Then proceeded to place components without a problem. NOTE: I did have to repeat this process about three times before it worked

My guess is some bug, glitch, gremlin or Cadence flu caused the problem. If memory serves, I believe I have run into this before, but not very often.

Cadence guys? Have you delt with this? And what causes it? BTW, I am using cersion 15.x on Win2k
