    Allegro footprint library Reply

I am new user to Allegro PCB design.

    (1)
As Allegro has very limited footprint library we are looking for Allegro footprint (Symbol) library.

Can someone suggest us IPC compliant Allegro library to us?

    (2)
    We did try www.pcblibrary.com product.

However, when we convert their *.plb library to *.dra file, we get all layers for symbol in Allegro with same one color.  What we desire is all symbol, footprint color on PCB Library viewer to remain same (or very close to it and uniform) when we get it into Allegro as *.dra file.

We may not like to manually set color for all layer for all fooprint file.

    Can someone help us.

    Thanks and regards.

    RE: Allegro footprint library Reply

The first step is to define your color pallet. The second step is to map your colors and create a macro.

You can set your color pallet under "Color and Visibility" to your desired color scheme then you can write this in the Color/Visibility menu. You can then read this in the DRA. You can also map each color to specific subclasses and record a macro to be executed using an alias. If you'd like you can send me your email address from my profile and I can send you my default color map "lallegro.col" and a script for mapping the color to commonly used subclasses.
