Export Possibilities for PCB Editor and Design Entry Reply

    Hello,

Is it possible to export pcb layout info in an ASCII format and if so, which export format is this ?

Also what I want to know is, which design export possibility there is for schematics, with Allegro Design Entry.

    Thank you very much.

    Arno

I saw that I can export to ODB++ (from PCB Editor).

Where can I find the ODB++ syntax ?

    Kind Regards,

    Arno

    Hi Arno,

There is a file: brd2odb.pdf in your ODB++ Inside install folder. Probably C:\Valor\ODB++Inside.

    Cheers, Dave

    Thank you Dave,

Is everything included in this "ODB++", like netlist information and layer and component information ?

I saw some ascii files already in the ODB++ tree. But where can I find a syntax, so that I can understand what everyting means in these ascii files. We are having a tool quiet similar as the VUV, but I need to understand the keywords in these ascii files to do a conversion to my own tool.

    Kind Regards,

    Arno

Hi Arno, Yes, everything is included. Although the syntax is available, it needs to be requested from Valor. Go to www.valor.com Cheers, Dave

You can use extract command to get everything in ascii format from a allegro database.
