total copper on the board Reply

    Hi experts,
Is there any way to extract total amount of copper present in the design?
In all layers, all database elements.
    thanks,
    Saad.

    Hi Saad

You could use the film area command - type film area on the command line. This relies on all the artwork layers being setup and will then generate a report for the films defined and how much area used by the elements on the layers.

You can generate the Film Area Report after you setup the Artwork Film Records.
This report will calculate the Area in Sq inches for each film record defined.

Just type "film area" on the Allegro command line or select the Film Area Report under Tools > Reports.

The Allegro command line allows you to select certain film records to report using the -f option:
syntax: film area [-f ] [output file name]
example: film area -f top my_film_area_report.txt

FYI: This report will take a little time to run depending on the amount of data on each of the film records.
