    Is there some way to define xnets other than using HDL? Our designs are not schematic-driven but it would be very helpful to be able to assign constraints to xnets.

    Yes, there is in Allegro.  However, my experience is with v14.2.

    In short;
    1)
    'Logic' > Identify DC Nets...'.  This prevents power from becoming part of an XNET.
    2)
    'Analyze' > 'SI/EMI Sim' > 'Model'.  Click the 'Auto Setup' button.  Click 'OK'.

    If all is right with the world, you are done and should see the XNETS that you want in the Constraint Manager.  If all is not right with the world, you may have to revisit step two, do not click the 'Auto Setup' button, then create, add or assign models.

    I apologize if this is not what you are looking for.

    Cheers!
    Drew
