    Orcad vs Capture Compatibility Reply

    All,

I have an Orcad V9 schematic design and am exporting a third party netlist to Allegro. I do not have Orcad V9 but rather the Allegro Design Entry CIS 10.3 I am able to view the schematic and also extract a third party netlist ,etc.

    The question:

If I were to make changes to the schematic would it still work in Orcad V9? Provided of course I don't use anything not supported by Orcad V9? The changes would be changing a connections , footprint name and also back annotate function and pin swaps?

    Hi Gary,

This works fine for you application but do not use the new feature in the property editor with electrical rule sets such as REL PROP, and the flat nets.
