Route Automatic vs. Route Editor Reply

What is the different between invoking "Route Automatic" abd "Route Editor"? I have a newly installed V15.2 and Route Automatic does not do anything while I can manually route under Route Editor.

"Invoking Route Automatic will only open a form for basic automatic routing control. Make sure entire design or specified nets are selected under the 'Selections' tab before selecting the ""Route"" button. Once the route button is selected the Automatic Router Progress window will open showing the current route status while it routes. When complete, this window will close and the board will be updated with the results.

    Hope this helps!"

I think that question was no matter what window will open or close. A question is : if it the same engine work like SmatRoute in SPECCTRA or different and if not so what best ?

    FYI:

If you have several optional licenses for the autorouter like ""performance option"", invoking the router in Allegro (Route Editor), will automatically invoke the highest available license feature.

We have a SR with Cadence where a stand alone invocation of the tool is out of sync with available licenses.

I'm trying to run the automatic router but nothing happens. I do not understand. In the specctra.logit is noticed :

    <<ERROR:>> No width rule defined
    # <<ERROR:>> No clearance rule defined

    Could you help me.

     Best regards

     Alin
