    PCAD to Allegro Reply

I am trying to convert a PCAD 2002 file to
Allegro. I have not had any sucess with the File>Export>PDIF function.
What do I need to do?
It does not make a file where I tell it, only an error text file.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

I haven't had any problems exporting a pdif from Pcad, but I am having problems with the import pcad to allegro. (version 15)
It seems to load the file at a 10x the normal size.
For example, a header with 100 mil pitch is loaded as 1000mil pitch.
    Curious........

Unless I am missing something, I have only two choices of units: mils or mm (radio buttons in the configure menu of Pcad)

I tried the mm units and the same thing happened. Any other ideas?

    Dear Pitbull;

I am having problems loading the PCAD pdif file into allegro.

It is asking for an options file and one was not created from the export.

Do you have a solution for getting around this problems?

    Thanks,

    dave

Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the "options" file. The options file is the layer mapping of the PCAD layers to their assigned Allegro layers. It is not created by PCAD as an output file.

You must create the layer mapping (options) file in Allegro at IMPORT into Allegro.

If you have PCAD, you can find the layer names, then when importing the pdif into Allegro, create the options file using the PCAD layer names and associate them with the Allegro layer names.

when unzuipped,  the option file mapping.ini just define the layer mapping from pcad to allegro,
we have to use this file to told allegro where those leyers will go

and the other file is transaction from pads, pcad, mentor to allegro,
Sorry it's chinese version  but just for reference

    Best Regards,
    Eric Chen
