    dropdown for a button. Reply

Im creating a form containing a button for viewing a selected file. Im using buttonIcon instead of text. So few users may not understand the use of that button. How to write a code/command when pointed to that button a dropdown will display a text. Similar to what happens when we point cursor over a button/option in a layout window or on LSW...etc. Any suggestion... Thanks,

In hiCreateButton we have ?help filed which is not used as of now.(As far as I know) . Instead you can directly give ?buttonText "Click to view the file" which is easiest way. One more option is to create a label field next to button field.

What your asking for here, I believe, is what is known as a "tooltip". That is, when you move the mouse over the field a small piece of text pops up briefly to describe the field.
The Cadence forms do not support tooltips, so you can't do this. A label by the field is the only real way available.
