    Alias for arrow keys. Reply

I would like to be able to move the arrow keys the same as the current  grid. Is this possible with an alias ?

You don't need an alias for this. You can already "nudge" components by using the SHIFT+Arrow key to move them based on the Current Non-Etch Grid setting. You need to be in General Edit Mode and have a component selected (it will be highlighted then use Shidt + the arrow direction of choice and the part will move a grid space. The key for which grid is used is based on the current Active Class / Subclass so if you change this to be ETCH / TOP for example the part will now move based on the TOP ETCH Grid.

Thanks for the response but that is not what I am looking for. For example , the current grid is set to 1 mil. I start drawing a line and want to move 5 mils. I would like to be able to press the arrow key 5 times and move the line 5 mils. Is this possible. with an alias command ?

OK try typing ix 5 at the command line. This will add a line 5 mils long in the x axis. You can also use iy 5.

Thanks that  works. Where is that documented its not listed under the "I" commands in the manual. Also I still would like to change the current arrow keys to be able to pan by the current grid value instead of some arbitrary command.
