    Stipple pattern problem? Reply

I am using OrCAD 16.6.  I plot the PCB (TOP, Etch) and print it out as a PDF file. (See attached file).

If you focus on the left side, you will see the shape was filled with many parallel lines but not solid dark area.  This shape was sketched as solid copper during the PCB design and purpose to be a power ground.

    Here are my questions:

    1. What do these "parallel lines" mean to the gerber file? or it is only a visual effect?

    2. Is that possible to change the "parallel lines" into a real solid dark area? and how?

    1.  The parallel lines that you see are only visual and created by the resolution of your output.

    2.  To change the lines to solid, try changing the print quality to something higher than the default.  I know that 2400dpi works for me.

     Hope that helps...
