Creating Regions in Cadence Allegro front to back flow Reply

What is the process for creating a region with unique physical and spacing properties when one is working with the front to back flow?

Is one supposed to create the constraint region in the Allegro HDL contraint manager and then have the layout engineer draw the region in the physical board and then name it with the same region name as created in the front end constraint manager??

The documentation for front to back end flow that I have read, does not speak to this level of detail.

Well this is a pickle...actually its more of a kumquat.

The Constraint Manager controls the "rules" not the area that they are applied to. The Layout Engineer defines the Area for the rules by drawing the required area and assigning a name to it. IF the region name already exists, you get the assigned constraints, otherwise, the required constraints need to be assigned to the named area drawn on the PCB.
