    ac after tran Reply

    Hello!

I am using AMS Designer to run mix signal simulations on models of circuits with
some digital parts (Verilog and VHDL) controlling the topology and parameters of analog circuitry.

Just imagine having different output filters selectable through some I2C commands
that must be written into the device...

I was thinking of using transients simulations to put the circuit in the proper status
for the transfer function I am looking for, saving the snapshots, and using those snapshots
for ac simulations...  any experience on this usage?

    best regards,

    fRan/

As yet I have not used AMS Designer so I am not familiar with the options it presents. I would suspect that what you want to do should work, but I have no way to check or try it out to be sure.

Anyone else out there have a better answer?

    Hello again!

After reading about the actimes/acnames undocumented feature from spectre,
I though I would give it a try at AMS (after all, the analog solver behind is spectre)...

    with no succes  :-(

    E.g:

    my_tran tran stop=20m actimes=[2m 12m] acnames=[my_ac2 my_ac12]

    my_ac2 ac annotate=sweep start = 10 stop = 100000

    my_ac12 ac annotate=sweep start = 10 stop = 100000

Warning from spectre during circuit read-in.

my_tran: `actimes' is not a valid parameter for an instance of `tran'.

    Ignored.

my_tran: `acnames' is not a valid parameter for an instance of `tran'.

You should be able to run ac after tran anyway in AMS. You might want to set "prevoppoint=yes" on the ac analysis, but apart from that, it should work.

I don't think acnames/actimes is supported at the moment - although I got a less severe error than you. What IUS version are you using?

    Regards,

    Andrew.
