Picking up simulation data from CIW from different directories Reply

This is a Cadence 5 question.

How can I pick up simulation data in the CIW from different directories.

For instance, I simulate a bunch of monte-carlo's in a script and for each different non-swept corner I place the results in a unique directory. So If I'm varying vdd, my directory structure looks like:

    /home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd1
    /home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd2
    /home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd3

These are set from the resultsDir command.

I want to make histograms of everything, but I can only ever get to the last thing simulated.

    I've tried:

    resultsDir(/home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd1)
    monteSelectResults(?dataFileName "mcdata" ?paramFileName "mcparam")
    histogram("VoutT_-40" ?numBins 20 ?density t)

    resultsDir(/home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd2)
    monteSelectResults(?dataFileName "mcdata" ?paramFileName "mcparam")
    histogram("VoutT_-40" ?numBins 20 ?density t)

     ...but this didn't work

I thinik resultsDir refers only to when you RUN a simulation, not try to obtain the results

    so then I tried:

    monteSelectResults(?dataFileName "/home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd1/mcdata" ?paramFileName "/home/somedirectory/simulation/ldo/spectre/vdd1/mcparam")
    histogram("VoutT_-40" ?numBins 20 ?density t)

    This also did not work....

This data is there. I can access it from the Monte Carlo GUI, but this will be horribly time consuming if done by hand.

As you said, resultsDir() only sets the result directory for subsequent runs. You need openResults() to open an arbitrary set of results.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
