    Can you use axlRunBatchDBprogram("notepad" ......) to open an attached file? Reply

     Hi all,

    I created an attached file, using axlCreateAttach(), I want to open the attachment in notepad. Is there a way to use axlRunBatchDBprogram() to open it and edit the file? If so, what would be the syntax?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    I got this, almost, working using :

     axlRunBatchDBProgram("mynotepad" sprintf(nil, "notepad %s",axlGetAttachment("attach3" 'file)->data ?noUnload t ?noProgress t)

    The only issue is that the text is missing returns. It comes in all one line. Any suggestions??

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    Have you tried using wordpad instead of notepad?

     Hi Dave,

    I tried using wordpad, but for some reason skill does not find the program. I tried to run wordpad at the cmd window and was not able to do that either.

    I contacted our IT guy and I'm waiting to see what he says.

    Could the issue be using %s? Is sprintf converting the file into a single string?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    Oddly enough, you have to call write.exe to load wordpad
