PCB Editor - Arrow keys Reply

Is there anyway to have the arrow keys control the cursor? Example, I am placing a part and want to have a bit better control over the placement then using my mouse. Getting the part close with the mouse then using the arrow keys to dial it in.

    16.2 would allow this.

You need to use the Shift key modifier, I don't think that this has changed in the releases. The Docs actually say, Placement Edit mode only but, certainly for 16.6, this works in "any" mode.

What do you mean by "shift key modifier"? If that means holding the shift key down while pressing the arrow key, it doesn't work. My arrow keys move the screen, sort of like a pan command.

You need to be in "Move", like hover over a symbol, tab round to "Symbol", if required, RMB>Move, Shift+Arrow Key. I checked this out in 16.5 as well and this does work, I suspect the doc is out of date in this regard.

I just updated to the latest SPB for 16.5 and it now works.

    Thanks.
