    Selective Edit in Place Reply

    I want to do edit in place to a particular cell some 2 or 4 level down . Can we use leHiEditInPlace() in such a  way that i pass the db is or cell name and the function will do edit in place to that particular place. Any suggesition  how to implement it ??

    thanks in advance

    First of all, leHiEditInPlace allows you to click on a shape several layers down in the hierarchy, and it will then edit in place the cellView that contains that shape. So maybe that does what you want.

    Alternatively you could use leEditInPlace or deEditInPlace to procedurally tell it which hierarchical path you want to edit (the arguments are specified in a different way - so read the documentation of each to determine which is most suitable for your needs).

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.

     Hi,

    The documentation suggests in the example the following:

    leEditInPlace( hiGetCurrentWindow() ((db:12082048 0 0 0) (db:13240512 0 1 2) (db:13933796 0 0 0)) )

    But perhaps it should be something a little more like:

    leEditInPlace( hiGetCurrentWindow() list(list(topInst 0 0 0) list(sub1Inst 0 1 2) list(sub2Inst 0 0 0)) )

    Where topInst, sub1Inst, and sub2Inst are the appropriate database ID's stored in variables.

    Can you try something like the above?

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
