    Newbie to orcad pcb designer professional 16.5 Reply

    Hi all,

     I am switching from the Pcb design XL to  orcad pcb designer professional 16.5.

    I am feeling little tough to work in this orcad.

    Cant load skill

    Cant change the hot keys as like design XL

    No spread between voids command 

    Any solution for this?? any ref doc will be appreciated..

    I want to know the other options thats not in Design XL.

    You can load skill but you need to autoload the skill using an allegro.ilinit file which defines what skill commands are auto-loaded when you start PCB Editor. The hot keys can be defined. locate your $HOME\pcbenv directory. Here is a text file called env. Open with a text editor and add the hotkeys here.

    Correct - no spread between voids plus other functionality. Look at the http://www.parallel-systems.co.uk/e-mail/PCB_Suites-MATRIX.pdf for a comparsion between all levels of Orcad and Allegro.

    Thanks for ur reply.

    I set the hot keys now.

    While loading skill in the orcad pcb designer,i m getting the following error.

    "Command not found:skill  "

     all the skills are placed in the below folder

    C:\xxxxx\xxx\share\pcb\etc\skill 

    Please see my allegro.ilinit file.

    Any wrong in this   

     and also  i cant view the pdf in the above site.please zip the pdf and send me.
