    How to highlight a given list of ports in GUI (First Encounter) Reply

    Hi All,

    I am new to First Encounter,Can any one help me out with a small tcl proc.

    My query is how to highlight a given list of ports in GUI,Actually we can highlight ports using "Pin Editor" which works well.

    But i have a file with a given list of ports (which does not consists all the design ports the one which requires to be highlighted is there in the file)

    So is there a way to use this file and highlight them in GUI (either through command line or somewhere in GUI)

    Hi Anurag,

    dbForEachFileLine port.list line {
      highlight [dbGet -p top.terms.name $line] -index 1
    }

    Notice that there's a difference between highlighting and selecting. Highlighting is typically used when you want to differentiate objects with different colors. Selection is more common when you want to select a group of objects. If you want to select use this instead of highlight:

    dbSelectObj [dbGet -p top.terms.name $line]

    Hope this helps,
    Bob
