Add property PSpiceOnly set to TRUE to the part in Capture amd this will remove the part from the BOM and the netlist.

I don't think this exists. I suggest you raise an enhancement request with Cadence directly.

Could you set up a variant within CIS and mark the component as not fitted, then generate your BOM from this?

Yes - Have a look at Part Manager under the tools menu.

OK, unless you have created some groups and subgroups, all of your components will be "Common", Common components are always fitted. Check out the CIS Users Guide, cisug.pdf in the doc\cisug directory of the installation, section 4 deals with creating and using groups and subgroups. Once you have moved components to groups / subgroups, you can alter the fitted / not fitted and value properties for the components in the groups / subgroups. Usually some portion, possibly most, of the components in the design will remain as "Common".

I also have this problem using 16.5. Seems like it still not possible to make. I think this should be fixed.

When you are generating a BOM, how can you exclude components? In part manager I have chosen “Not present” this makes the component in the BOM "not mounted". Problem is I also have components I don’t want in the BOM such as test points. How to?

In Part Manager, set up a group called "Not Components" and drag test points etc here. Remember to mark all of them as Not Present.

This group must appear in all of your variants.

    Create Group "Not Components"

Move Testpads etc into this group

    Open "Not Components" group

    Shift select all

Right click, select "Set Part As Not Present"

A red X will appear against each component

    Hope this helps

I was able to perform your steps correctly but now I'm wondering what this will yield for me? My "Do Not Stuff" components are listed just like they were before.  They are not identified in the BOM as "Do Not Stuff" components.  They are not identified uniquely at all.

Re: BOM_IGNORE IN CAPTURE CIS-163 Reply

I have the same problem with CIS.

We used a Fitted property to display "Not Fitted" in the BOM and on the schematic before CIS, but I haven't been able to get the contents of this variable to display on the CIS Standard BOM Report.  I have added Fitted to the list, but the BOM doesn't actually show the contents of the property.

We need the BOM to display values and other information even for non-stuffed parts, which rules out the use of Variants.

I have tried adding the property to the schematic symbol, adding the property to the CIS Database (using all combinations of the Transfer to Design and Update Part Property when mapping it), and both in the symbol and in the database, it doesn't  help, the Fitted property has a column in the BOM but doesn't display anything in the column.  All I get is a statement that there is a mismatch of the Fitted property between the parts with the "Not Fitted" string and those without.

Any thioughts anyone has in reference to this would be appreciated :)
