    Pin Current Probing Issue? Reply

In certain cases the pin currents of cells are stored as numericals instead of the actual pin name. For example a when I look at the simulation outputs via the Results Browser, I see that the pin current value is /../../../io.4 instead of  /../../../io.n2_mid. The pin name n2_mid has been converted into a numerical value of 4 when the result is stored. Is there a way to avoid this conversion?

    Thanks,

So does anybody know the rule how a pin name say as above n2_mid gets converted to a numerical value of 4?

    Thanks,

The number is the order of the pin in the subckt header. There is an option (see "spectre -h options" called "useterms" which you can set to "useterms=name" and then it will save by name rather than index.

Be cautious though; this can break backannotation in ADE because CDF and so on is most likely set up to expect the pin by order rather than by name.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
