    prompt user for input in ocean command-line Reply

     Does anyone know of a way to prompt the user for input in the ocean command-line, without creating any forms or anything. When I try to use lineread or gets on the standard piport, it just returns immediately with "t" instead of waiting for the user to type anything in. I'm just looking for something simple like an old-school c program where you write to stdout and then do a read on stdin for the input:

    Enter name: ...

    Enter file to load: ...

     something where the user would not have to define all the options before running the skill program.

    -Thanks!

    Hi,

    I have not tried this but does gets() do what you want?

    gets(
     s_variableName
     [ p_inputPort ]
    )

      => t_string |nil

    I hope that this answers your question.

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.
