    ocean -nograph error Reply

I am very new to ocean plateform and cadence tool. In my simulation, konsole screen display takes most of the time and I want to disable it. I found that "ocean -nograph" does the same. I am trying to use -nograph option but its not work. I don't get any log or output file. Could you please help me to resolve the issue. Screen log and ocean script is given below.

This is covered in sourcelink solution 11494094. You need to install the RPM package gdbm on the machine. For example:

    > rpm -q -f /usr/lib/libgdbm.so.2
    gdbm-1.8.0-26.2.1

The version number may vary, depending on your OS version.

This package must be installed for "nograph" modes to work, as it is required by
    the
    Xndx "null" X server.
    Regards,
    Andrew.

    Hi,

Has the installation of that lib solved your problem? In my case I still have the same error:

*WARNING* Could not locate rgb.txt file in /usr/lib/X11
*WARNING* This file is required for color operations with the non-graphical
*WARNING* X server and many WARNING messages may follow this one!
*WARNING* Unable to open -nograph X Window Display "node03.cluster.ic.unicamp.br:500.1"
    *WARNING* (using "exec /tools/cadence/IC5141/tools.lnx86/dfII/bin/Xndx :0&").
*WARNING* Xndx output may be found in file /tmp/Xndx<pid>.log

    How does I solve it?

    Kind regards,

The rgb.txt file missing shouldn't be enough to make it exit. More info on that part can be found in Solution 11593064 .

Did you look at the /tmp/Xndx<pid>.log file? It may have given some more clues...

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

On the log file it shows the following error:

    Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/lib/X11/rgb'

Binding TCP socket: Address already in use

Cannot establish tcp listening socket: Address already in use

Trying to connect an existing tcp listening socket...

    Any  idea?

Just to make it clear, I want to run ocean in command line, so I'm calling the program as:

    >> ocean -nograph

    Regards,

It might be that something else is using the port - or that you have too many "-nograph" sessions running on the same machine.

    You could try using:

    setenv CDS_XNDX_OFFSET 1  # or a number from 1 to 9

    or:

    export CDS_XNDX_OFFSET=1

(the first is for csh, the second for bash/ksh).

before running icfb -nograph. Hopefully that will help.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
