How to draw flip flops?-Asked in Digital Implementation forume also Reply

     Hello all,

I have placed this question in Digital Implementation previously & got suggession  to place it in this forum.

I am new to Orcad. I want to draw flip flops such as J K flip based design diagram in  orcad.

I can add Gates from 'Place part' list but I don't find flip flops in that part list.  Whether I have to add a specific library or  I have to make Flip flops by editing similar looking ICs?. Please guide me.

    Regards,

    Pra168

Which flip-flop device are you wanting to use? Do you have a part number?

    C

     Hi Pra168,

Capture should have a large library of flip flops already. See the 74* libraries. For instance, 74HCT109 in 74hct.lib is a J-K FF.

You can open a schematic symbol and save that as a new symbol in a different library, if you want to create a custom schematic symbol. You will need to make sure the pins are correct, and also the PSpice information if you want to simulate the part. Everything you need is in the Capture User Guide and the PSpice User Guide.
