    IC6 VXL, is there "Choose Which Object To Use" Reply

    Hi all,

    in VXL IC5 )cdb if i place the pointer over a given pin then started to draw a path it would automatically ask me which layer to route in.

    For example there might be an m1 pin with a m2 route over it. The "Choose which Object to use" form would appear giving me the choice m1 & m2. When i choose m1 the LSW would then jump to that chosen layer.

    Is anyone aware if IC6 should do likewise and if so how do i configure it?

    I checked the log of my IC5, the output was:

     \a hiiSetCurrentForm('lxPointToNet_form)
    \r t
    \a lxPointToNet_form->lay_listbox->value = '("Net \"Q\" on \"M1\" \"drawing\"" )
    \r ("Net \"Q\" on \"M1\" \"drawing\"")

    I'm guessing its the lxPointToNet_form, perhaps that can be added in some form to an environment file.

    Thanks

    Stu

     Stu,

     I'm not sure if you are aware but you should be using  leCreateWire() in 6.1 and not create path.  This will give the same interaction as in 5.1 but different form names will appear.  the choose form will be

         hiiSetCurrentForm('leWeChooseLayerForm)

     This form gives you the choice of layers to route with.  I chose the second value in this form...

         leWeChooseLayerForm->layerListBox->value= '( 2 )

    Not sure if this answers your question completely but I think it's a solid start.

     regards,

    Donna
