I run an introductory course on PCB design for my department and have changed from Layout to OrCAD PCB Editor this year. The classes went well but it took a lot of effort on my part to set up the new course because I did not find the Cadence tutorials as helpful as I would have liked. I'd therefore be happy to send a copy of the course notes to anybody who is doing something similar in the hope that you will not have to spend as much time on it as I did! Unfortunately the pdf file exceeds the upload limit because there are numerous images so you will have to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
. There's a lot of local material in the notes, mainly related to our rather old-fashioned facilities for making PCBs, and some revision of Capture and PSpice, but the instructions on PCB Editor should be generally applicable. The tutorial is definitely introductory – two layers, low frequency, nothing fancy. The text is written in LaTeX and the images are in pdf.
Update: don't send me an email; download the tutorial from userweb.eng.gla.ac.uk/john.davies/orcad.
