Holistic analog design flow enables 2-month design-to-tapeout cycle on a product for the mobile phone industry
A Cadence partner from the very beginning, austriamicrosystems is an analog IC design and manufacturing company based in Graz, Austria. Their sensor interfaces and power management products are used in applications for medical, automotive, industrial, consumer, and communications devices.
On a recent project, austriamicrosystems need to tapeout a cell phone lighting-management product within 8 weeks, and ship samples within 15 weeks. Cadence helped them meet their tight timeline with a unified custom/analog flow that maximizes productivity through parasitic-aware design, in-design manufacturing signoff, and advanced power management capabilities.
“For the design of austriamicrosystems analog IC products, design efficiency is key,” explains Thomas Riener, Sr. VP and General Manager of Foundry Business at austriamicrosystems. With the integrated analog design flow from Cadence, we can tapeout products very quickly.”
Riener also cites the highly collaborative approach―having a local Cadence contact and direct access to Cadence engineer―as key elements in the 20-year-long and constantly evolving partnership.
