Charlie Huang, Cadence Chief Strategy Officer, congratulates recipients
On Tuesday, November 3, Cadence announced the recipients
of the Excellence in Innovation Awards. This awards program plays a vital role at Cadence to recognize the outstanding efforts of engineering teams and individuals who turn design ideas into breakthrough products and solutions for the electronics industry. Each year, awards are given in the following categories: Product Innovation, Enterprise Innovation, Patent of the Year, Invention of the Year, and Prolific Inventor of the Year.
Award recipients received special invitations to celebrate at an evening reception with Cadence CEO Lip-Bu Tan and the members of the Executive Management Team. “By pushing the state-of-the-art forward, these inventors have added immense value to our company, our business, and our industry,” said Charlie Huang, Chief Strategy Officer at Cadence. “These annual awards are a reminder of just how innovative Cadence is. We want to recognize our company's great spirit and tradition of innovation with an evening of celebration and appreciation.”
“Leadership in innovation is fundamental for customers to choose Cadence as their trusted design partner,” explained Tom Cooley, Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at Cadence. One measure of innovation is the number of patents issued, and Cadence has been a consistent leader in this area. With more than 800 U.S. patents issued
, plus an additional 150 issued internationally, Cadence holds more patents than any other EDA company in the world. The Excellence in Innovation Awards program recognizes inventors for protecting innovations through successfully filing and obtaining patents.
Cadence engineers from all over the world submit inventive ideas, making the awards program a truly global effort. Thirteen of this year's 36 recipients are from locations outside the San Jose Headquarters. “The Excellence in Innovation Awards program was established to encourage, promote, and recognize the wealth of innovative, internally developed technology,” summarized Mike Williams, Cadence Vice President and Associate General Counsel, and awards program manager. "The program aligns with our Cadence priorities of creating long-term shareholder value and optimizing our customers' development processes around the globe.” Feature stories archive »
