  • Re: analogLib in cadence 6.1.5 (LNA simulation)

Hi Marouf, You do not need an additional license to use analogLib if you have a license for Virtuoso IC6.1.5 and the Analog Design Environment. You do need to have a license to simulate spectre/aps in the Analog Design Environment. You didn't mention what version of MMSIM you are using. If you are...

  • Re: K Stability factor

Hi Hamid, The equations used for K are the standard equations in any well known microwave book. Let me see if I can figure out how to upload the image. You can also see the information in the SpectreRF User Guide. Here's the direct link: http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:DocumentViewer;src...

  • Regarding simulation of VARACTORS using MOS and finding quality factor

hi using IC 5.10.40 I am working on VCO using MOS Varactor(B D S connected and inversion mode)but i am facing the problems listed here.. 1 Finding the capacitance and quality factor. I also want to plot these with tuning voltage. 2 Which analysis i should use for that, 3 If we see the DC operating points...

  • Re: hbsp simulation on icfb5

Hi EnglishBear, I'm leaving for 4th of July holiday in a few minutes...but let me explain briefly. You can run any spectre/spectreRF simulation from the unix/linux command line. The simulator version you are using is hopefully MMSIM12.1 or MMSIM12.1.1. When you run from the command line, you don't...

  • Re: Nport Component (S-Parameter Files) in PSS Analysis

Hi Frank, just to clarify... Linear and spline interpolation methods are supported in pss-hb and hb (and all subsequent small signal analyses) and envlp. pss-shooting can be used with the nport in some circumstances. Linear and spline interpolation methods are not supported for Shooting QPSS/QPXX, Shooting...

  • S parameter plot

Hi I am a newbie. I want to plot S parameters in Cadence 6.1 . I have been trying hard but in vain. The problem is the port selection menu is not accepting any inputs from teh schematic. so it remains blank. and finally when i run the schematic then the LOG file shows that no ports detected.. What should...

  • Unrealsitic Fmax simulation of IBM 90nm in cadence

Hello All, I am trying to measure Fmax of IBM 90nm technology in cadence. I am measuring S parameters and plotting Gumx. I get Fmax around 500GHz for 90nm while reported Fmax for 90nm are around 300GHz. I am using rfmos transistor & technology uses BSIM4.4 model. I am not sure what I am doing wrong...
