  • Broadband SPICE -- New Tool for S-Parameter Simulation in Spectre RF

Hi All, Here's another great new feature that I've found very helpful... Broadband SPICE is a new tool for S-parameter simulation in Spectre RF. In the MMSIM13.1.1 ( MMSIM13.1 USR1) release (now available on http://downloads.cadence.com), a new interpolation method, bbspice , has been introduced...

  • Re: Insufficient memory to run PSS analysis - how to resolve?

Hi apaj, This is a very quick reply, as I don't have time to delve into this.... You may want to contact Customer Support for additional assistance. If you are using s-parameters, use the harmonic balance engine, rather than the shooting Newton engine. HB is much better suited to simulate s-parameters...

  • MMSIM 12.1 SpectreRF -- Preview of Coming nport Attractions! Part 2

Greetings, MMSIM 12.1 contains many new features to aid RF designers. Many of these changes are described in my Part 1 blog post. I've saved my favorite for last....here's a preview of the changes to the nport component in MMSIM12.1. 1. The Edit Object Properties/Add Instance form has been revised...

  • My Favorite nport Settings for Spectre and SpectreRF

The nport component located in analogLib can be used in circuits for Spectre and SpectreRF simulations. It is a scattering parameter (S-parameter) based distributed multi-port element. The nport truly is a "black box"… It can be used to model dramatically different systems, such as:...

  • Re: using nport in Verilog-AMS

Hi Tobias, With regards to setting your path, you may want to look at the following Solution: http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:ViewSolution;solutionNumber=11066876 Note that this is for the n2port...it will be the same for the nport. In fact, you should use "nport" instead...

  • Re: using nport in Verilog-AMS

I suspect it's the way you are defining the path in the file parameter. Try using a full path, rather than relative path. Also, it's good practice to designate your s-parameter files as mydevicesparam.s3p (or .s2p, .s4p, etc.). Not a big deal, but if you later want to plot those s-parameters...
