  • Re: For LNA design, how to get the transistor size (BJT) for the Ropt?

Hi Aba, If you are new to SpectreRF, the first thing I recommend you do is go through Simulating Low Noise Amplifiers section of Appendix A of the SpectreRF User Guide. You will need to have an account on Cadence Online Support ( http://support.cadence.com ) to download the gpdk180 required to simulate...

  • Can a beginner ask here for some help?

Hi, I am a student at local faculty of Electrical Engineeing, and I just recently started using Cadence Virtuoso. The thing is, I am also employed, and I'm attending this course in RF electronics at the department which I don't belong to. We had a couple of lab exercises till now, using Virtuoso...

  • Re: analogLib in cadence 6.1.5 (LNA simulation)

Hi Marouf, You do not need an additional license to use analogLib if you have a license for Virtuoso IC6.1.5 and the Analog Design Environment. You do need to have a license to simulate spectre/aps in the Analog Design Environment. You didn't mention what version of MMSIM you are using. If you are...

  • analogLib in cadence 6.1.5 (LNA simulation)

Hello, I was looking for some help. I am a graduate student who is looking to perform some s parameter analysis on a LNA. The version of cadence licensed to my university (UMKC) is 6.1.5. Most tutorials have the schematic drawn with parts from the library called analogLib. My university seems to only...

  • Phantom Stage Problem (Pspice Design)

Hi there, Im working on a project which is basically a transductor, connected to a LNA (with an easy Impedance Matching Network between them), and then the load resistor who's reciving the amplification. The fact is that i've introduced a Phantom stage at the end, between the LNA and the load...
  • Fully differential opamp caluculations

I made this schematic and I simulated this I am getting gain ~40dB and UGB 20Mhz, I want to do stability analysis for this fully differential ckt , And I want to find out --- CMRR --- PSRR ---Loop gain (from stability analysis ) How I should use cmdprobe to do stb analysis , please help me

  • Unable to run PSS Analysis

Sir, I have used BSIM-CMG107.0.0 Mosfet Compact model for my thesis work. But when I go for pss analysis, an error is shown saying that the behavioural file that you have given is not supported for pss analysis. The model is actually a verilog-A file. It would be grateful if you give me any solution...

  • Noise Figure discrepancies in LNA design

This question is regarding noise figure in a simple common-emitter LNA in the W-Band. There are two main simulations that I am using: A) sp analysis with noise set to "yes" and the input/output ports specified. B) noise analysis with the input port specified, and the output specified as a voltage...
