  • inner workings of Virtuoso Copy command

Greetings forum Does the Copy command under virtuoso place db objects into a "paste" buffer that is still maintained after the copy command is terminated which could be accessed with a SKILL command some amount of time later ? Is the buffer erased and filled with a new object once the copy...

  • How do I export Spectre simulation results to a CSV file using the command line?

I'm running a Spectre netlist through the Linux shell, e.g. $ spectre my_netlist.scs After running this simulation, I want to access the simulation results database. My questions are: What lines should I add to my Spectre netlist so that the simulation results are automatically exported to a specified...

  • Searching in the database of the cellview

When a pin connected to a block but by net name (as seen in the test case where test<1:4> connected to Dig_top), I can't find the pin name by searching inside the data base of the block, for example: In the attached test case When I search in the data base of the cellview->Dig_top for the...

  • Re: Auto contact SKILL function

Hi Yaosan, Yes, the code just transforms the bounding box, not the shapes themselves. If I have understood your problem correctly, you are wanting to create a via at the intersection of two appropriately overlapping shapes in the layout, whether these shapes are present at level 0, or at other levels...

  • Re: How to open two layouts, copy them into a third and save

Ah yes, I forgot about instances etc. so Andrew's suggestion is really a better approach, and simpler too. Just for a brief reference, the dbFlattenInst() function is shown here: dbFlattenInst( d_instId x_levels [ g_flattenPCells ] [ g_preservePins ] [ g_preserveRODobjs ] ) So the code might look...

  • Re: How to open two layouts, copy them into a third and save

Hi Tom, How's suggestion is in the right direction, but I don't think it will work since the ge prefix functions work with graphics editor and the cellviews are being opened in virtual memory only, not in graphical windows. A more direct way to get all of the shape dbId's for copying would...

  • Re: setting user property in symbol view

Hi Rajiv, Any database object, except for a property itself, can have a property added/attached to it. (For a property of a property, you would need to create a hierarchical property object). You should be able to do what you want using the dbCreateProp() function: dbCreateProp( g_object t_name t_propType...
