  • Binary Data Bus via programming script

Is there a simple, automated way of placing vias from a data bus in a binary pattern to instances like decoders?

  • Create a Via with the same parameters as what "auto" option provided on the "Create Via Form"

Hi there, I am very new to this community. I am trying to implement creating via automatically using skill code. Thanks for all the information that you provided. I was able to place the via wher I want using skill code. However, in terms of the VIA params, I would like to create a via with the same...

  • Re: Auto contact SKILL function

Hi Yaosan, Yes, the code just transforms the bounding box, not the shapes themselves. If I have understood your problem correctly, you are wanting to create a via at the intersection of two appropriately overlapping shapes in the layout, whether these shapes are present at level 0, or at other levels...

  • Re: Auto contact SKILL function

Hi Yaosan, First, I will assume that you are talking about version IC61x, since the menu you described was "Create Via" and not Create Contact. In IC61 (based on the Open Access database), vias are objects as opposed to instances (as they were in IC5141 and earlier), so you would use the dbCreateVia...

  • Stacked Vias

Hi, I am interested to know if these's a way to create a stacked VIA, say a stack of VIA4 & VIA5 in a 6 metal process. I am interested to know how do I add this Stack VIA in the technology file? Can I add it to the tech file throught an API like the CreateStdVia & the CreateCustomVia? Or...

  • Re: How to replace Vias in Virtuoso6.1.3 version.

Hi Veera, In IC613 vias are no longer instances but OA objects, so they have a different interface for creation. Try the dbCreateVia() function in combination with something like dbFindViaHeaderByName() (or techFindViaDefByName(), or techFindViaSpec() ) to obtain the via definition. I'm not sure...
